Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first massage therapy appointment?

Your first visit will be approximately 45-60 minutes in duration. Your therapist will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition which will determine which techniques will most benefit you.  During your massage only the area being treated will be exposed.  You are encouraged to ask questions about the goals of your treatment or provide feedback about the treatment itself.  After your session, your therapist will provide you with specific exercises that will assist in your rehabilitation.  You may feel some discomfort following your appointment, this is normal.  Ice may help alleviate this discomfort.

Will my extended medical plan cover my treatments?

As each extended medical plan differs, we recommend that you check with your plan for details on your coverage.

Does the BC Medical Services Plan still cover a portion of my treatment costs?

BC Medical Services plan will only cover a portion of your treatment if you are on Premium Assistance.  Premium Assistance patients are entitled to 10 visits per calendar year that are partially covered by the Medical Services Plan.  These visits are combined with the visits to a chiropractor, physiotherapist, naturopath and podiatrist.  We will need your Care Card number and birth date to confirm coverage.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes, we recommend that you schedule an appointment in advance to reserve a time that works best for you.  Evening and Saturday appointments are especially popular and may require you to book further in advance. Book online here.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Your appointment has been reserved for you.  In courtesy of your therapist and fellow patients, we ask that you provide 24 hours notice of cancellation, or a cancellation fee will be charged.  You can log into your Jane account at any time to cancel an appointment. Any appointments that are cancelled without appropriate notice will be subject to the full cost of your treatment.
